Since I became a member of the Sea Cliff – Glen Head Lions in 2001, I have had the opportunity to serve our community while meeting the wonderful Lions throughout our District.

The Lions of 20-K2 are generous volunteers who serve selflessly in their quest to help others. In this tradition, I have declared my Beacon of Hope to be "Liberty Through Service".

"Liberty Through Service" is formulated from the Lions’ acronym of Liberty, Intelligence, Our Nation’s Safety coupled with my professional ideal of protecting those deprived of their liberty.

"Liberty Through Service" recognizes the Lions’ principle of securing liberty and freedom to those who may be restrained by an impairment of mind or body.

Through our service as Lions we, in some small measure, aid the weak and right the wrong, and, in so doing, eradicate those restraints experienced by others.

To symbolize "Liberty Through Service" I have selected the classical design of the Parthenon of Ancient Greece, which is represented today in our nation’s Supreme Court building, with its dedication to the ideals of law, wisdom and understanding.

"Liberty Through Service" embodies our Lions’ motto of "We Serve" by fostering the principle of enabling others to seek their full measure. Let us go forward and achieve this Beacon of Hope together.
