Awards
The Beacon
Awards will recognize outstanding achievement by clubs and districts in the area
of service. Projects and activities that are submitted should exemplify what it
means to be a “Beacon of Hope” to the world.
Clubs and districts that participate in
Global Service Action Campaigns
and
submit an activity report via WMMR
to Lions Clubs International will automatically be entered
for the Beacon Awards.
Categories include:

Most Creative Youth Program Activity (by a club or district)
– submit report via WMMR by October 31, 2010.

Outstanding Service to the Blind or Visually Impaired (by a club or
district) –
submit report via WMMR by December 31, 2010.

Best Hunger Relief Program or Activity (by a club or district)
– submit report via WMMR by March 31, 2011.

Best Environmental Project (by a club or district)
– submit report via WMMR by May 15, 2011.

Lion That Best Exemplifies the Spirit of Service
– entries may only be submitted by executive officers or international
directors. For this category, nominations must be sent to the Lions Clubs
International Public Relations Division no later than April 1, 2011.
The Beacon Awards will be
presented at the 2011 Lions Clubs International Convention in Seattle,
Washington, USA.
Submit Activity Report
To be automatically entered for
the Beacon Awards, clubs and districts must submit a report on their Global
Service Action Campaign activities (narrative description of the activity, with
photos if available) to Lions Clubs International via the Lions Service Activity
Report in the WMMR. A link to the Service Activity Report with information on
how to enter activity information related to the Global Service Action Campaigns
will be available on the WMMR Administration Home page. Specific instructions on
how to access the reporting system are also available on the
WMMR login page.
NOTE: Clubs currently using EMMR
should contact their
District
Secretary for electronic submission guidelines.
