Club Involvements: 

Lion John R. Diaz, joined the Massapequa Lion’s Club in October 3, 2002.  The following year he was elected to the Board of Directors, 2003 - 2007.  He served as Lion Tamer from 2003 – 2004. Was elected to the position of Tail Twister of the club from 2004 – 2005.  Lion John was elected Vice President from July, 2005 to October 2006. 

In October of 2006, the current president, Joseph Hunsberger resigned for personal reasons; Lion John was called upon to fill the positions of President of the club. 

In June of 2007, Lion John was re-elected to another term as club president.  He will serve as club President to June of 2008.

District Involvements:  

Lion John accepted the position of Zone Chair for District 20k-2 and faithfully represented Zone 9 and was a cabinet member of the district; 2007-2008. 

In 2007, District Governor Carmilla Weir has appointed Vice District Governor Herb Farrell and Lion John Diaz to a committee to facilitate the accessible storage for the recycle eye glass program. 

In 2008, Lion John attended the Tri-District MERL Symposium (District K-1, K-2 & 20-S).   He also attended membership seminars working continuously with his club to increase membership.  In addition, has attended District 20-K2 yearly convention.
