One organization supplying relief to Haiti is Lions Club. A member of the club from the Chicago area just returned from the country and is sharing her personal video and experiences.

Carol Burke-Hallberg says she'll never forget the looks on the faces of the quake victims she met.

"Just giving us that look of desperate need, that stuck with me," Burke-Hallberg said.

She returned Sunday night from a relief effort organized by Lions Club and is also a documentary producer. She recorded her experiences and her encounters with the people of Port-au-Prince.

There are more examples of the suffering and need that continues nearly two weeks after the quake hit.

“Here were families with nothing. Nothing left, and they're motioning to their mouths. They were hungry and thirsty," Burke-Hallberg said.

Carole was joined by Lions Club volunteers from across the country who linked up with Lions Club members in Haiti to distribute aid. They brought supplies directly to the people and to medical staff at one of the few standing hospitals in the capitol city.

Although it's not common knowledge, it's part of the Lions Club mission to get involved in disaster relief. Club members responded after the tsunami in Asia and to Hurricane Katrina.

Burke-Hallberg said the club isn't leaving Haiti anytime soon. Relief and re-building efforts will need to continue for many months to come, and they're focused on the long term.

She says she'll likely return soon.
