VCB – What Does VCB Stand For?

It’s VISIONS Center on Blindness

And no longer Vacation Camp for the Blind

The VISIONS Board of Directors passed a resolution at its meeting on May 12, 2009 to rename VCB as VISIONS Center on Blindness, which more accurately describes what it represents than Vacation Camp for the Blind.

The name change was prompted by the fact that VCB, located in Spring Valley, Rockland County, is not just for vacation but provides many other services such as training, education and skills development. Besides, it is more than a camp; it is truly a center for many programs, projects and activities of vital importance to individuals who are blind and visually impaired and their families.

VCB is an arm of the VISIONS organization, which also has facilities in New York City to provide rehabilitation, development, employment, intergenerational and other services to assist the blind and visually impaired citizens in the New York metropolitan area. VCB is officially in partnership with the Lions organization. Lions of District 20-K2 and other sub-districts of New York Multiple District 20 fund and volunteer with adoption and maintenance of the facilities at VCB.
