Massapequa Park 3rd Annual Halloween “Fright Night for Sight” |
The Science assignment was clear: create a project that would name a problem and find a solution on how to make the earth better. Their teacher would then enter all of the projects in the annual National Christopher Columbus Awards contest (www.christophercolumbusawards.com). Nick Klingler, Joseph Kopp, Ian Miranda and Christopher McCarren, all 6th graders at Birch Lane Elementary School in Massapequa NY, decided on Improper Chimney Maintenance and Carbon Monoxide (CO) Poisoning. Carbon Monoxide is one of the deadliest gasses because it has no color, taste or smell. The boys worked endlessly for months and their website is both interesting and informative. There is an online survey, as well as a guest book! Their website is: www.KidsPollutionSolution.com . Browse through, pass it along to your friends and family, and take a moment to post a comment… but please, support these boys in their endeavor to save lives and change the world!!
