Seaford Lions President Donald Paulson was named an “Empire Angel.” The "Empire Angel" program recognizes individuals nominated for selflessly giving of their time and spirit to communities across Long Island. The program is co-sponsored by Empire BlueCross BlueShield and the Long Island Ducks. During the 2009 Ducks season, Empire BlueCross BlueShield will recognize five individuals recommended by other Long Islanders for significant contributions to the community. They honor Long Island's everyday heroes who make positive impacts in our communities. Donald was nominated by Seaford Library President Peter Ruffner. As the "Empire Angel" he received four tickets to the game Friday, July 24. He was recognized during a pregame on-field ceremony and then threw out the first-pitch to Duck coach Bud Harrelson. Mr. Paulson was recognized not only for his work with the Seaford Lions Club. Donald is an assistant scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 239. He is also an active member of the Seaford Wellness Council and the Seaford 9/11 Committee.
